PROCUREMENT MANAGER – ANIMAL NUTRITION

Job description

• Strategy management around procurement of commodity and non-commodity products for animal nutrition – both local as well global. Develop, lead and execute on these strategies to optimize procurement. • Create and maintain relations with vendors(local and global), plan visits and initiate and manage timely supplier plant audit and warehouses to ensure quality controls. • Negotiate on price and delivery terms and close deals with optimal terms. • Follow up with vendors on timely delivery of products as per contractual terms. • Demand and supply forecasting, analyzing price trends of the raw materials – local and global and make informed decision and drive efficiencies in purchase. Ownership of the overall PL. • Sourcing, maintaining and updating prices of the raw materials/ingredients and making them available to the technical head and other related department for margins calculations, price checking and analyzing trends. • Working in close coordination with the technical, operation and execution and develop strategy around quality management, inventory forecasting, minimum inventory levels and management to draw efficiencies in overall supplies and costing. Ensure adequate ingredient availability in factory/tolling units at all times. • Ensure all documents – sales and purchase contracts, agreements, PO and PIs, invoices are aligned, whenever contracting and executing on orders. • Support inventory reconciliation, calculation and reporting of shrink wherever applicable. • Coordination across and fulfilling requirement of various departments - Audit, Compliance Finance, Hr, etc related to the line of procurement. • Coordination with the global team, participating in global meets and aligning the Indian procurement with global standards and compliance. • Any other duties the management assigns in the line of duty around Animal Nutrition.

Describe Candidate Profile

With a postgraduate qualification – Mba/Commerce/ Agri/ Biology/Chemistry/Veterinarian educational background with 6-8 years of strong experience in procurement of commodity (Macro and micro) and non-commodity products in the Animal Nutrition domain. Someone with strong knowledge of micro and macro ingredients used in animal feed, with good understanding of quality parameters, trade terms in both local as well international sourcing. Qualities needed for this position: ? Strong sourcing, negotiating and timely decision making skills ? Vendor management ? Technical/Nutritional knowledge ? International and import process knowledge ? Expert in MS office – Excel, Word, Powerpoint ? Open-mindedness and curiosity ? Work as part of a team ? Open-mindedness and curiosity to learn and upgrade. ? Ability to listen and analyze ? Cross-cultural mindset ? Experience working in matrix organization
